As part of Ajman University’s College of Law commitment to enhancing theoretical studies and linking them to practical applications, the college organized a field visit for a group of students to the Department of Ports and Customs in Ajman on Monday, February 17, 2025, with the aim of gaining insights into practical operations within the field of maritime navigation.

During the visit, students learned about the operational processes of commercial activities at the port, starting from its infrastructure and divisions, the ship reception process, container inspection, cargo storage mechanisms, and logistical procedures related to inspection and customs clearance. They were also introduced to the smart systems used for cargo inspection and the legal aspects of maritime transport and international trade.

Mr. Nasser Obaid Al Suwaidi, Director of the Maritime Affairs and Operations Department at the port, provided students with a comprehensive overview of the port’s various facilities and its significant role in supporting trade in the Emirate of Ajman.

The visit was supervised by Dr. Ahmed Al-Fadhli and Professor Dr. Zeina Ghanem, faculty members at the College of Law. The professors emphasized the importance of such visits in enhancing students’ skills, broadening their knowledge, and preparing them for the job market as qualified legal professionals.
